This historic East London site has been transformed from a terrace of five houses into a stunning mixed use space. The project entailed complete internal demolition and full facade retention with existing floors and walls replaced by a concrete structure at basement and ground floor level and a combined steel and timber structure on upper storeys. The ground floor and new full footprint basement accommodate an artist’s workshop, studio and gallery space with clever use of courtyards to bring light into lower levels. The upper four floors provide a unique family home with lateral open plan living areas featuring a stunning double height atrium.
